Event Details

This event is being hosted by our friends at Frederick County Public Libraries.

Frederick County Public Libraries, Frederick Community College, and The Weinberg Center for the Arts are pleased to announce that the highly acclaimed, bestselling author, Wes Moore will participate in a virtual program for their annual Frederick Reads event.

Moore's latest work, Five Days: The Fiery Reckoning of an American City, a kaleidoscopic account of five days in the life of a city on the edge, told through eight characters on the frontlines of the protests that overtook Baltimore after the death of Freddie Gray.

Moore’s talk will also highlight his earlier New York Times Bestseller, The Other Wes Moore as well as its young adult version Discovering Wes Moore. These titles chronicle the lives of two kids named Wes Moore who both grew up fatherless in similar Baltimore neighborhoods. The author’s journey took him from wayward inner city youth to decorated combat veteran, Rhodes Scholar, White House fellow, social entrepreneur, and business leader while the other Wes Moore ended up convicted of murder and serving a life sentence.

This program is also supported by The C. Burr Artz Trust, The Ausherman Family Foundation, Frederick Arts Council, The Delaplaine Foundation, Curious Iguana, and Plamondon Hospitality.
