Event Details

Did you know? Several species of owls can be found in Anne Arundel County! Come join us as we learn from Maryland Department of Natural Resource's Education Specialist, Kerry Wixted.

Learn about the owl species that call Anne Arundel County home and adaptations that help them survive. We will also explore what owls eat and how they process food by going through owl pellet dissections. Pellets are sterilized, but it is recommended that adults help supervise the dissection process.

Owl pellet dissection kits will be provided. Kits must be picked up at the Severn Library, and are available through curbside pickup during our hours of operation starting Thursday February 18 through Wednesday February 24:

Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm

Friday-Saturday 10am-5pm

Sunday 1pm-5pm

Hosted by the Severn Library
