Join the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) to learn about DNA in this virtual program! Meet SERC molecular ecologist Dr. Katrina Lohan, take a virtual tour of her lab to get a closer look at how she studies DNA...and conduct a real DNA extraction at home! All the necessary materials for the DNA extraction will be provided at no cost. Just pick them up at your nearest Anne Arundel County Public Library starting Saturday, October 10th (while supplies last).

Not able to pick up a kit from a branch? Just use the attached list of household materials and instructions to follow along at home!

This event will be hosted as Zoom webinar. Sign language interpretation will be available. Please click this link to join the event: https://smithsonian.zoom.us/j/99379679783?pwd=dHJLa0NjVkxUK2FFb21pMU5FZDZXUT09
